My Sunday Photo... Tulip

Now how is that for a wonderful blast of spring?
I think that this particular tulip looks like it's been painted by an artist.
The splashes and sweeps of red coming from the artist flamboyant brush strokes.

I finally have been able to spend some time in the garden today and it was fantastic to feel the warmth of the spring sun and to see beautiful blooms putting on a show.

As usual I'm linking up with My Sunday Photo

    1. That's what immediately came into my mind when I first saw it Victoria,
Now it appears that the artist has flicked through the garden with their brush because we have lots more like this one now. I think they're rather fun and I adore the bright sunshine colour.

  4. It does look like an artist's brush has swept across the petals to give it that splash of colour. Beautiful #MySundayPhoto

    1. That's what I thought Kim.
I planted so many bulbs last year that I'd forgotten what varieties I'd used. It was such a delight to see this stunning specimen. I was so surprised that they came up at all never mind to look this beautiful.

    1. No one is more surprised than me Pam. I planted masses of bulbs last year and never thought they'd see the light of day again. Now I have lots of varieties popping up, which makes all the bending and kneeling planting them worthwhile.

I planted what seemed like masses last year and thought that might be the last I saw of them... so I'm thrilled. They certainly have made a delightful pop of colour in my borders.

    1. Isn't it just Jennifer,
I haven't spent much time in the garden so far due to that arctic blast that's been whipping through here... but it appears to be abating at last. Maybe I'll be able to get out there soon because it seriously needs some work. Everything's sprouting like mad including the weeds.

  27. What a heavenly bloom. The colors are SOSOSO vibrant and beautiful. Wish I was a good watercolorist and could paint it. Our gaffs have all bloomed and gone on so am waiting for my iris now. I have no tulips...and when I did never did I get a bloom like this. It is stunning and your capture is perfection. genie

I may have a go at painting it myself if I feel brave enough. I have daffs putting on quite a show too... so it's the beginnings of a colourful palette. My iris are only just sprouting, so I've a little time to wait for them to bloom.
Thank you for your lovely encouraging words.
