My Sunday Photo...Hot Tub

Since my hubby retired, I've had to be prepared for his new projects.
We've had the creating of the veg plot and the chickens are well established as part of the family now, but I can honestly say I never ever envisioned this latest project.
For any of my regular readers you'll already know that my hubby adores wood and our wood burner So imagine his delight when he saw a Scandinavian wood burning stove, that heats a hot tub!
One was ordered and delivered before I could say 'HYGGE'

I have to admit I wasn't convinced until actually used it....oh boy I have to admit it is amazing.
This photo doesn't actually show how big it is...plenty of room for two.
The only trouble is that my feet don't touch to the other side and I keep finding myself floating!

As you can see my son loves it!
I'm linking up with My Sunday Photo as usual.
Thanks Darren for hosting once again.

And finally thanks to you for popping by and I hope to see you again soon.
Enjoy your day :D

  2. It looks delightfully quaint, yet very practical as well.Certainly a talking point in the garden - and no doubt really relaxing too. Lucky lady!

    1. It certainly is different Di...not sure it will be permanently placed there, we'll have to see how it settles in. Hubby initially wanted it siting on the decking right outside our lounge/kitchen/family room! He's now decided (upon advice) that placed in the garden is a better plan. I've now got to come up with a way of softening it's edges. Plants etc hopefully might work.
I'm told that it will age beautifully...now you tell me anything that ages well and I'll eat my hat!
Thankfully after trying it out...it's won me over. It was divine, especially after working all day in the garden. Beautifully gallons of hot water that I literally had to fight to keep from floating.

    1. Well since hubby retired Sue, I'm a little nervous. He keeps coming up with these ideas. First the veg plot, then chickens and the hot tub. We're in for a wet week which means he'll be on the internet and I'm worried what idea's he'll get whilst browsing!

    1. Well yes it is rather unique and not the norm Sarah. It actually is quite pretty in an odd sort of way. The wood burner is very efficient way of heating up the water and I love the smoke coming out of the chimney. Depending on what wood you use it can give off a lovely smell :D

    1. I have to say Fiona, that it is wonderful. I wasn't convinced until I submerged myself in it...then I was hooked! The oak slates help you to sit and relax, and apparently the aluminium tub will age beautifully. The perfect end to the day :D

    1. Well John, I think you should have one because they don't take up too much room (but enough for two) and they really are the biz!
You could trial and review it in the interest of your blogging readers! ;D

    1. Darren let me tell you it really is great. I wasn't convinced until I got in. It has beautiful oak slates to lounge on and the water is as hot as you'd like, plus it doesn't get cold. It takes about an hour to get the fire going and the water hot, but then it stays hot for as long as the fire is fed. It really is the business.

    1. The same happened to my daughter Tas,
She was expecting to see one of those square Jacuzzi type of tubs that can seat four or more. This one is only for two really, which from the photograph above is quite deceiving. It has been a great surprise to find that we all love it.

    1. I can well recommend one. It is great and so relaxing especially after a day working in the garden. Then a view of the garden where you've been working, with a glass of wine whilst relaxing in a hot tub...what more could you want?

    1. It is great Dad...and will be used even though we don't have the warmest of weathers here. It is Scandinavian so used to colder temperatures. Once you're submerged it doesn't matter what the weather is doing!

    1. Well initially I had my doubts Sally, and thought it was just another of my hubbies crazy ideas, but once I submerged myself in it and lounged whilst looking over the garden on a summery sunset...I was hooked. Apparently it will age well with being aged oak and aluminium. I just need to soften the edges with some pots and plants now.

  19. Oh my! When I saw hot tub in your title this is not what I pictured! Ive seen and used the ones that are round made of teak heated by a wood fire along side. This! It's a metal Tub! An unusual addition to your garden. :) :) Wonder what's next? Have a wonderful Sunday Nessie. Hugs

    1. Haha...I like to keep you on your toes Nan. My daughter reacted exactly the same way. She never thought it would be like this even when I described it as a tin bath!
I never added the other photo's that show the inside...it's aged oak slates that elevate you from the aluminium surround. It is great and there's easily enough room for two.
I'm not sure it will stay in this location but wherever it is situated it'll need to have softer edges, by planting or pots perhaps. Apparently it will age beautifully...so we shall see.
I'm a little nervous that we have a wet week ahead, which means that my hubby will be online once again and who knows what he might see or come up with.
